Getting Closer!

This is the corner of my living room where I paint and generally make a mess:D I love having lots of my favourite images up around me for inspiration. I tend to put unfinished things up too, it's good to live with them for a while and allow time for them to suggest what they want me to do to them next!

My friend thought this should be the other way up, but it's a weeping cherry tree in front of one of the many beautiful vermillion shrines in kyoto, so it is actually the right way up!

I've been very busy creating new work and I'm loving every minute of it, I feel like i'm on a roll and it doesn't always happen like this so I'm enjoying it while I can:D
The exhibition at the Ghislaine Howard Studio Gallery starts this weekend and I feel like a little kid I'm so excited.

I'm very excited to be exhibiting in the Ghislaine Howard Studio Gallery in the upcoming winter show! 

It starts next weekend on Sat 4th Nov.  Today we've started putting some of the work on the walls of the galley, trying to get a sense of where things are going to go. It's really satisfying to see it all coming together now. I have 4 paintings still at the framers, I get those on Monday and then the work of hanging the show, and getting the space ready can really begin:D

Also exhibiting are Michael Howard, Cordelia Howard and Ian Mood.

Not only is Ghislaine a fantastic painter but she makes great cakes too. I don't know where she finds the time but it's going to be a wonderful exhibition.

I'll post more over the next couple of days, Ghislaine's getting a new website and I've been working on some new paintings, a couple of which are above.

Autumn colour and excitment:D

Exciting times are ahead, and indeed are happening now, I can feel it in the air!
It's autumn and I've been made redundant, but strangely I feel really optimistic. One thing has come to an end and that can only leave space for new things to enter.
In-between searching for jobs I'm enjoying having the time to go for walks in my local Manor Park, the colours have been beautiful this year.


Also, I have an exhibition coming up in a few weeks so I'm doing some new work and feeling very creative. I'll post it here first of course, just as soon as it's finished and scanned in. I'll post the flyer here too when I get a copy of it.
