Inspiration for new work

I've been taking lots of photographs here in Japan of all the beautiful temples, and indeed anything that catches my eye. I'd really love to have a go at capturing the feel of some of these places and I think that's what I'll focus on next. I love temples, the big bustling ones with crowds of people and the small, almost forgotten ones that are bypassed by the crowds and remain peaceful and tranquil.

Above are a few of my favourite photos from the last 5 months (that's how long I've been in japan now, it's gone so fast!!). I hope you like them.

Recent Work

This will be my last post today, I must get out and do other things!! Just wanted to leave you with some recent work, all inspired by being in Japan except for the last picture which is a birthday present for my friend Dave. It's meant to express my love of music and my need for that old Pagan magic of nature and stardust. I'm hoping many of these images will one day be available in my etsy shop (unopened as yet as I'm waiting until i return to england so I can get myself properly organised!).
Love to you all xx

putting a smile on my face

Argggh, it's just taken me ages to get onto my own blog!! My computer keeps crashing and now I'm a little grumpy, good job i have the wonderful Laura marling to listen to to cheer me up. My friend, Dave, posted me the cd from England and I love it! For those of you who have'nt heard her she's a fabulous singer songwriter from England. She's been nominated for the Mercury music prize, which i think happens tonight, so good luck with that Laura. You can check her out at http://www.lauramarling.com/ Did I mention that she's only 18!!!!

The other thing that's put a smile on my face today is an email from the very talented catherine Campbell at myfolklover. I have her blog listed in my inspirations list and she was kind enough to reply to a comment i made about her work.

I've put some of my fave pieces of Catherines work on now above. I know that most people will have come across her already but I make no apologies as she's great!!
